Determining the minimum length of a cane:
- Stand erect.
- Be in comfortable shoes you usually wear.
- Allow arms to fall at the sides naturally. Do not lean
forward. Shoulders should not be raised.
- Take the measurement from the wrist bone
down to the floor.
- Remember: We can shorten wooden canes/staffs to the
desired height, but we CANNOT lengthen them!
Determining the minimum length of a
hiking Staff:
- Stand erect.
- Be in comfortable shoes you usually wear.
- Allow arms to fall at the sides naturally. Do not lean
forward. Shoulders should not be raised.
- Take the measurement from the wrist bone
down to the floor.
- Then add an additional 5" to 12" to
allow for the top of the staff.
- Remember: We can shorten wooden canes/staffs to the
desired height, but we CANNOT lengthen them!
